Ohio House Bill 8 would require public schools to:
- Require school districts to provide parents with a notice about and opportunity to review "sexually explicit instruction materials" and provide alternative instruction upon request
- Prohibit school personnel from encouraging a student to withhold from a parent information concerning the student's health or wellbeing, even if the school personnel suspects that disclosing this information could lead to abuse, abandonment or neglect
- Notify parents about school-provided healthcare services and notify parents about changes to the health services provided to their children
