Accessibility

Reasonable Accommodations
KYC is dedicated to making our facility as accessible as possible and will make reasonable accommodations to welcome any and all into our home. Please contact KYC at info@kycohio.org or 614-294-5437 to inquire about accessibility needs that are not listed on this page or for further clarification.

Drop-In Center
Because so many unique youth attend our drop-in center hours from Monday-Friday, the center can occasionally be overwhelming for some youth sensitive to loud noises, crowded spaces, sensory processing, and more. We highly suggest any youth new to our programming with any of the aforementioned accessibility needs first attend during our Monday-Thursday hours, as Friday is our most attended day of the week. Staff members and volunteers are always present and available for youth with such sensitivities during our programming hours. If needed, please contact us for further guidance if you feel you or another youth may be affected in any way.

Facility Accessibility
The first story at KYC’s main facility (603 E Town St, Columbus, OH 43215) is wheelchair accessible. The second story is not. For youth or adults visiting our facility, the majority of our drop-in center programming occurs on the first story, with the second story being made up of administrative offices. Please contact us if you would like more information on the physical accessibility of our site.

Food/Dietary Restrictions & Allergens
KYC is dedicated to providing hot meals every day for youth that visit our drop-in center. Typical meals at KYC may include or be exposed to common food allergies such as nuts, soy, milk, egg, fish, wheat, and gluten. Please inform a KYC staff member prior to your visit regarding allergies/sensitivities or dietary restrictions. Because KYC seeks to serve as many youth in the community as possible, we cannot guarantee that every request be met but will provide reasonable accommodations that may be affected by such restrictions.

ASL Interpreters
An ASL interpreter is not routinely available in our facilities, but KYC can provide an ASL interpreter if requested. Please contact us for further information.
