Sports Equity Fund

The Sports Equity Fund is designed to increase participation and reduce barriers for young LGBTQIA+ athletes in Ohio through scholarships to cover team fees, equipment, uniforms and more. All athletes between the ages of 12 and 18, including recent high school graduates, are eligible to apply.

Apply For a Scholarship

Kaleidoscope Youth Center is currently accepting applications for the KYC Sports Equity Fund. Approved funds are paid directly to the program/provider.

Scholarship funds can be used to finance:
  • Athletic Equipment
  • Team Fees
  • Club Sports
  • Recreational Teams
  • Athletic classes not affiliated with schools
  • And more!

Who Supports The Sports Equity Fund?
The Sports Equity Fund was created from a $10,000 donation from the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA), a 501c(3) international sports organization dedicated to providing opportunity and access for the LGBT community to participate in organized softball competition in safe environments. In 2021, the NAGAAA held a fundraiser to support the creation of this grant during the Gay Softball World Series (GSWS), which was hosted in Columbus that year.
