Say NO to Ohio House Bill 6

House Bill 6 - The "Save Women's Sports Act"

Ohio House Bill 6 is discriminatory legislation that would prevent transgender women and girls from competing in school sports at the high school and collegiate levels. It was introduced by Representative Jenna Powell.

H.B. 6 was voted out of the Ohio House Higher Education Committee on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. This bill was then amended into House Bill 68 on June 14, 2023. House Bill 68 passed out of the Ohio House on June 21, 2023. While House Bill 6 now remains in the House, House Bill 68 moved to the Senate, where it's been assigned to the Government Oversight Committee.

What are the facts?

According to the Center for American Progress, the benefits socially, emotionally, and psychologically for LGBTQ+ youth participating in sports is lifesaving.
"Ohio High School Athletics Association - which oversees about 400,000 student-athletes each year across the state -already has rules in place to accommodate transgender athletes competing at the high school level."
