Introducing the Holding a Sister Initiative! Dedicated to uplifting and resourcing trans girls and gender-expansive youth of color
The Holding a Sister Initiative (HASI) program is a special program designed to support young Black, Indigenous, Latina, Asian, Arab, Pacific Islander and other People of Color, trans women and girls. 
HASI is the first national fund in the country explicitly dedicated to resourcing and uplifting trans girls and gender-expansive youth of color, and creating space for cis and trans girls of color to build solidarity with one another.

The KYC Holding a Sister Initiative (HASI) is explicitly dedicated to resourcing, uplifting, and creating space for cis, trans, and gender expansive girls of color to build solidarity and community. Community scholarships include, but are not limited to, gender affirmation needs, educational scholarships, and community grants focused on leadership/personal development. Approved funds will be paid directly to the program/provider. Eligibility for HASI Community Scholarship includes any cis, trans, gender-expansive, non-binary and/or any girl or femme person ages 12-24 who are members of Black, Indigenous, Latin, Asian, Arab, Pacific Islander communities.

*Completion of this application does not guarantee funding. Requests are approved based on the amount of funds available.

Who Supports HASI?
HASI receives funding and support from The Black Trans Fund and Grantmakers for Girls of Color. These organizations are dedicated to supporting initiatives that empower and uplift marginalized communities, ensuring that young Black trans women and girls have access to the resources they need to succeed.

KYC HASI Community Scholarship

Kaleidoscope Youth Center is currently accepting applications for the KYC HASI Community Scholarship. This scholarship aims to uplift, resource, and create a safe space for cis, trans, and gender expansive girls of color.

​Community scholarships include, but are not limited to:
-Gender affirmation needs
-Educational scholarships
-Community grants focused on leadership/personal development.
